A lot of the hesitation around booking a first vein consultation comes down to not knowing what happens once you’re in the room. Here’s the process, step by step.

1. A conversation about your symptoms and history
Your physician will ask about what you’re noticing — aching, swelling, visible veins, family history — and any relevant medical history, including prior clots or pregnancies.
2. A diagnostic ultrasound
This is the part that actually tells us what’s going on beneath the surface. The ultrasound maps which veins have faulty valves and how severe the reflux is, which determines what treatment (if any) makes sense.
3. A treatment plan, explained clearly
Based on the ultrasound, your physician will walk you through which of EVLT, ClariVein, VenaSeal, or sclerotherapy fits your case, and why — including what to expect for downtime and recovery.
4. Cost, insurance, and financing
We’ll go over what your plan is likely to cover, provide documentation to support a claim, and discuss financing if it’s useful, so you have a clear picture before deciding anything.
5. Booking, on your terms
There’s no pressure to book on the spot — many patients take the consultation findings home to think over before scheduling.
Virtual consultations are available for an initial conversation, though the ultrasound itself needs to happen in person before any procedure is scheduled.
