About Dr. Matz
Dr. Alexander Matz is a general surgeon and the founder of Canada Vein Clinics, now Canada’s largest network of minimally invasive vein clinics. He was one of the first surgeons in Canada, and the first in Atlantic Canada, to perform endovenous laser treatment (EVLT). He and his team have performed thousands of varicose and spider vein treatments.
Dr. Matz treats vein disease as a medical condition, not a cosmetic one. Every patient starts with a diagnostic ultrasound, the treatment plan is built around how their veins are actually working, and each patient receives personal follow-up after treatment.

Dr. Matz’s work has been published in scientific publications and presented at provincial, national and international surgical conferences, including meetings of the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons in New York and the XXXV Congress of the International College of Surgeons in Pattaya, Thailand.
